Rainy Day Activities
Fortunately, Ashland enjoys beautiful weather due to the excellent location right at the California border, but we still have occasional rainy days. Downtown Ashland is a shopper's paradise, regardless of the weather, thanks in part to endless protective canopies. Unique and varied shops and restaurants offer something to suit every whim. Step inside a bookshop for a warm cup of coffee, or enjoy truffle-scented macaroni and cheese at one of Ashland's countless fine independent restaurants.
There are theaters galore! Ashland has 3 theaters at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, The Cabaret Theater, Southern Oregon University's theater, a handful of small independent theaters, and 2 movie theaters with a total of 9 screens. Take your pick!
A rainy day could also be a good day to explore the Science Works Museum which is located in Ashland, one of the local brew pubs or wineries, or even take a short jaunt to the Oregon Caves.
If it's raining, it might be snowing! Bring your ski gear so you can glide down the slopes at Mt. Ashland.
TIP: Plan on the Oregon Shakespeare Festival being closed on Mondays
