Young children will play to their heart's desire in Lithia Park which is a 99 acre paradise in the center of downtown. Stroller-friendly walking paths, a well-equipped playground, wadding creek, and two duck ponds offer endless hours of entertainment. Plus, on Thursday nights in June, July, and August the Ashland City Band delights all ages when they fill the bandshell with riffs from the past. Bring a picnic dinner and enjoy!
The Science Works Museum in Ashland offers hands-on experiments for busy hands and minds. Be creative and explore the inner workings of mechanical marvels and life's little mysteries.

Garfield Park is a terrific newer addition to the south end of town, it's just down the street from The Palm Cottages, and SOU, and only a few blocks from the Science Works Museum. Large grassy areas allow for safe ball playing and kite flying, a playground offers a wide variety of activities, picnic tables provide shade and relaxation for the tired, and a waterpark area is a refreshing treat in summer where little feet can frolic.

TIP: Downtown Ashland is very pedestrian-friendly. After visiting Lithia Park, try walking your family to The Plaza and challenging yourselves to try the Lithia water which flows from the central fountain. Don't worry, two ice cream shops are closeby to help wash away the bitter aftertaste.
