Ashland Day Hikes

Countless trails surround Ashland, so the options are endless. The casual walker will enjoy the peaceful, shady trails that are nearly level and wheelchair friendly as they wind their way through Lithia Park in downtown Ashland. Conveniently placed benches, picnic tables, and fountains offer relaxing opportunities for contemplative pauses. Bird watchers and botany enthusiasts will find opportunities to be dazzled.

More challenging trails are found in the hills above Lithia Park and include the popular White Rabbit trail which wins rave reviews from both walkers and mountain bikers alike. A series of trails departs from White Rabbit, so it's easy to adjust the length of the hike to suit your needs. If you are eager for a long distance challenge, the Pacific Crest Trail passes through the Mount Ashland Ski Resort and it's only about twenty miles from town. Before venturing out into the wilderness, it is always advisable to have local hiking maps which are easily available at the Northwest Nature Shop or the Ashland Chamber of Commerce.

TIP: Stop by the Ashland Food Coop to pickup an organic deli lunch at a reasonable price for your adventure.
